Artoldo, beato (1101-1206). Servì alla corte di Amedeo III di Savoia, nel 1120 si fece certosino; nel 1140 fondò la certosa di Arvières-en-Valromey. Ottuagenario fu nominato vescovo di Belley, ma rinunciò alla carica dopo due anni; per meditare e studiare tornò a Valromey, nella sua certosa, di cui aveva nostalgia, dove morì. Ha infatti, la mitra posta sullo scrittoio, dietro al libro, con sullo sfondo il convento sognato. Il suo culto fu approvato nel 1834 e si ricorda il 7 ottobre.

Artoldo, blessed (1101-1206). He served at the court of Amedeo III of Savoy, in 1120 he became a Carthusian; in 1140 he founded the Charterhouse of Arvières-en-Valromey. At the age of eighty he was nominated bishop of Belley, but he renounced the office after two years; in order to meditate and study he returned to Valromey, in his Charterhouse, of which he had nostalgia, where he died. Artoldo, Seliger, (1101-1206). Er diente am Hof von Amedeo III von Savoia, im Jahr 1120 wurde er ein Kartäusermönch; 1140 gründete er die Kartause von Arvières-en-Valromey. Als Achtzigjährige wurde er Bischof von Belley ernannt, verzichtete aber auf das Amt nach zwei Jahren; er kehrte in Valromey in seiner zurück Kartause, von der er Sehnsucht hatte, um nachzudenken und zu lernen und wo er auch starb.
