Bonifacio di Savoia, beato. Membro della casa ducale dei Savoia, divenne priore e poi vescovo di Valenza ed infine arcivescovo di Canterbury nel 1241. Ebbe fama di santo. Morì in Savoia nel 1270 e fu sepolto ad Hautecombe. Il suo culto è stato confermato nel 1830. Si ricorda il 13 marzo. L'artista lo ritrae nell'atto che riceve la mitra dall'angelo per dimostrare che la sua nomina a vescovo fu voluta dallo Spirito Santo per i suoi meriti.

Bonifacio of Savoy, blessed. Member of the ducal house of the Savoy, he became first prior and then bishop of Valenza and in the end archbishop of Canterbury in 1241. He was held a saint. He died in Savoy in 1270 and was buried in Hautecombe. His cult was confirmed in 1830. He is remembered on March 13. The artist portrays him in the act of receiving the mitre from an angel in order to show that his nomination as bishop was wanted by the Holy Spirit for his merits.
